Course Designed for | This is a new qualification for professional bus, coach and lorry drivers – the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC). In future, just holding a vocational driving licence will not be sufficient for someone who wishes to driver such vehicles for a living. |

Course Aim | When drivers obtain the Driver CPC they will have to complete a total of 35 hours Periodic Training with 5 year to keep the CPC valid. LGV Drivers that are exempt from the CPC will have to complete there periodic Driver by September 2014. |

The theory questions were increased from 35 to 60 in April 2007 and to 100 on the 4th August also the hazard perception clips in the theory test have been increased from 14 to 19 on the 4th August 2008. The theory test has not been spilt into two parts a multiple choice test and a hazard perception test that that can be done separately or taking together. If both tests are taken together and one is failed only the failed test has to be re-taken the past test will be stored until the failed one has been re-taken and both are a past. This theory test, along with the appropriate practical test, will have to be taken by both PCV and LGV drivers. From the 10th September 2009 LGV drivers will also have to do the Driver CPC theory test which consists of 19 LGV case studies and the Driver practical test which is an half hour practical test module. To pass the Driver CPC all the below modules must be passed:
