Our professionals here at Nationwide forklift training have been providing novice forklift training courses for around 10 years and have trained more novices than most of our competitors. We set up our novice forklift training so that we can give opportunities to those with little or no forklift training and help them to learn and understand all the basics. This type of course is ideal for new employees, or tradesmen seeking to expand their knowledge and improve their CV in order to expand their business opportunities.

Novice training includes theory and practical training to help any new forklift drivers get to grips with both aspects of the required knowledge in forklift handling. We are able to tailor our novice courses for those who have had little or no experience in handling, being around or driving forklift trucks of any kind.

All of our certified professional trainers are friendly and efficient in order to put you at ease throughout your novice forklift training course and will offer you personal advice and guidance as and when you need it. It is their job to take you through the basics in the classroom, as well as out on the forklifts to ensure that you are safe at all times during the training course.

All our courses are designed to meet the requirements placed upon employers with regard to their duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974; the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER); the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER), as applicable and other relevant regulations and codes of practice

On successful completion the course members will be able to:

• Operate the truck model used during the training course, safely and correctly in accordance with the manufacturers operator procedures manual and in accepted good operating practices.
• Show their understanding, by clearly stating the causes of instability of trucks and loads.
• Carry out correctly the routine pre-use inspection of the lift truck in accordance with the manufacturers operator procedures manual.
